Antique and book market

Thursday 4 October, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM


The art and antiques market is a veritable smorgasbord for lovers of antiques, curios, old prints & books, paintings and objets d’art. The people who buy here love making investments. A cosy stall full of old picture postcards, sorted by theme and in kept in attractive boxes, attracts an amazing amount of interest.


Street Art Jam

5, 6 & 7 October

Scheveningen Beach

Watch the street artists who also painted our rooms in the hotel live. A big graffiti/street art jam will be held on October 5,6 & 7 on the beach of Scheveningen. Come and watch these masters paint live thanks to all the sponsors, the municipality of The Hague and all the participating artists.


Museum Night The Hague

Saturday 6 October, 8:30 PM – 1:00 AM

The Hague City Centre

Dozens of cultural institutions open their doors for you during the Museum Night The Hague (‘Museumnacht Den Haag’). Besides all the beautiful art you can spot in the city, there will be a programme with dance, music, theatre and much more. A night to remember!

This year there are several shuttle services between the centre and locations further away. Not an average bus, but an historical bus from The Hague’s Bus Museum. Furthermore you can also take the boat by the Willemsvaart.

You can buy your ticket in the presales or on night itself, online or at the VVV Tourist Office. With a Museum Night ticket you are able to visit all the participating institutions, and you are free to use the suttle services. You can also use it to go to the afterparty. After the Museumnight you can use it one more time to visit a museum for free.



Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week

During the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week (DSFW), attention is being paid to sustainable fashion throughout the Netherlands through countless events and in more than 400 renowned stores. in The Hague there is also a great sustainable program.



IAfrica Film Festival

Filmhuis Den Haag

The iAfrica Film Festival (iAFF) is being organised by Yangambi. Aim of this event is to create an accessible platform for the general public to have an introduction of what African cinema  has to offer. Yangambi via iAFF tries to ventilate the continuous development of this form of art and the importance African cinema plays in society.

The iAFF is meant as an event welcoming all types of different audiences in which African cinema is shown, highlighting societal issues related to Africa and its diaspora.

The event promises to be exhilarating as it provides visitors a different perspective of how African filmmakers view societal issues in and related to Africa.




Saturday 13 October, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM


On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October 2018 the ‘Pearl route for the Flora and Fauna districts’ will take place for the tenth time (Heester-, Bomen-, Bloemen- en Vruchtenbuurt and Vogelwijk). Residents of these neighborhoods can be a visitor to a special hobby, to have a collection, to practice a branch of art. In October a specially made booklet, in oa by the library Fahrenheitstraat and by a number of shopkeepers, all the pearls that participate can be seen and the route can be found.

Herfstfest is a drum festival with shows, workshops, a drum exhibition, jams, ‘shed sessions’ and speed contests. For professionals, amateurs and drummers-to-be.

ADO Den Haag Cars Jeans Stadium

The Stadium FunRun ADO The Hague ‘the Music edition’: a unique running event by and around the Cars Jeans Stadium for charity! Get moving and walk past unique places where normally only the ADO Den Haag players are allowed to come. This year both the start and the finish are at the center spot! This year the event will be dominated by MUSIC, ‘the Music edtion’. As a runner you will be worn every half kilometer by music in different styles; from hard housebeats to cozy Dutch party music!

There are 5 distances; the Family Run of 1 KM, the 1905m Run, the 5 KM Run, the 10 KM Run and the 10 KM Walking Tour.



Sea Sights Festival

Scheveningen Boulevard

Sea Sights Festival is the innovation festival on and off the coast. Particularly part of the festival is the Sea Sights Expo from 19 to 21 October on the Scheveningen boulevard, near the Pier. National and international entrepreneurs, artists, students and visionaries present their future idea for our coast in 10 sea containers. On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 October there are several fun demonstrations and there is a special children’s program



Haagse Popweek

During the Haagse Popweek from 19 to 27 October 2018 we ask for a week of attention for The Hague’s emerging pop talent. We stow everything that currently plays in the field of genres such as pop, rock, indie, singer-songwriter, urban / hip hop and electronics. In addition, talent development is central. For example, as a musician you can take part in various seminars, workshops, master classes or network meetings.




MuteSounds festival

MuteSounds is a festival with so much more than music alone! A fantastic festival for deaf, hearing impaired and hearing people where the senses are stimulated in a spectacular way. MuteSounds will take you on a fantastic journey – with something new to experience around every corner.

MuteSounds festival The Hague connects between hearing, deaf and hearing impaired visitors. With a vibrating dance floor where you can feel the music, sign dancers, live acts and that great festival feeling.



Fire and Soup

Friday 26 October, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Mens en Tuin

In this beautiful green oasis we light up outside a wood fire and we make a big pan of soup together. Entrance is free but take an ingredient for the soup, salad or a side dish. Meet each other and enjoy good company and the beautiful garden; who knows with a nice story or music.



Crossing Border Festival

Theater aan het Spui

Crossing Border is an inspiring cultural festival based in The Hague with a unique combination of spoken word, music, special film screenings and visual arts. Over the years Crossing Border has evolved to become one of the foremost international, interdisciplinary literature and music festivals in Europe.

Trendy contemporary festival
Every edition the Crossing Border Festival presents a mix of writers, poets, musicians, filmmakers and performers. Besides renowned names from the literature and music industry, the festival focuses on artists yet to be discovered, highlighting new developments in literature and music and their interconnection with other arts. Various international artists as well as national talents come to perform at this trendy contemporary festival as the festival looks for unique and once-only combinations of talent. In the past few years literary luminaries such as Fay Weldon and Salman Rushdie contributed to the festival. Great musical contributions were from Rufus Wainwright and Jamie Lidell.

The Hague Tower

The Hague Tower, with 42 floors and 135 meters height, is a striking appearance in the city center of The Hague. Because of its triangular shape, Hagenaars sometimes give the building the nickname ‘Het Strijkijzer’. The tower is inspired by the famous Flatiron Building from New York. In the skyscraper you will find, among others, The Penthouse restaurant, a Sky Bar, apartments and exclusive Business Suites.
